Anchored Thermoplastic Lining for Concrete Protection

ANCHOR-LOK mechanically locks into concrete structures to provide unmatched corrosion resistance. ANCHOR-LOK reduces construction time, eliminates concrete cure and surface preparation, and provides verified pinhole and leak-free integrity throughout the lining system.

The chemical and thermal resistance of Anchor-Lok Thermoplastic Lining Systems surpasses a variety of requirements for the protection of concrete structures regardless of size and configuration. ANCHOR-LOK sheet is available in various grades of Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF).

ANCHOR-LOK is used in conjunction with concrete to contain and convey a wide variety of chemical solutions.  ANCHOR-LOK has excellent chemical, thermal and abrasion resistance and withstands external hydraulic pressure well in excess of a 100 ft. Q: How is ANCHOR-LOK installed?
A: Anchor-Lok is installed with conventional concrete placement practices. The sheet or fabrication is placed on forms prior to the concrete pour, allowing the lining to mechanically lock into the matrix of the concrete structure.

Q: Can ANCHOR-LOK be used to retro-fit existing structures?
A: Yes, ANCHOR-LOK can be used for new or existing concrete construction.

Q: How do you determine the proper type of ANCHOR-LOK?
A: Selection is based on specific service conditions of each application. ATLAS Engineering will make the determination based on chemical, thermal, physical, abrasive, and other exposure criteria.

Q: What chemicals can ANCHOR-LOK resist?
A: Each thermoplastic resists a broad range of chemicals. See the Chemical Resistance Chart  for specific information.

Q: What is the temperature range ANCHOR-LOK can withstand?
A: HDPE can be in service at temperatures as low as -40* F (-40* C). PVDF can withstand up to 275* F (135* C).

Q: How is ANCHOR-LOK proven to be leak-free?
A: All seams are thermoplastically welded and backed with conductive material. Spark testing verifies the lining system is free of any pinholes or leaks. Structures can be equipped with leak detection for further assurance.

Q: Can I use this product for outside applications?
A: Yes. HDPE and a UV-resistant grade of PP are commonly used outside.

Q: Can ANCHOR-LOK save time in a construction schedule?
A: ANCHOR-LOK eliminates the need for concrete cure. Anchor-Lok can be placed in service as soon as concrete forms are stripped (and any seams, if present, are welded).

Q: Will field welding be required?
A: Structures that cannot be shipped in one piece will need to be field welded. Smaller fabrications do not require field welding.

Q: Can ANCHOR-LOK bridge cracks?
A: Yes. ANCHOR-LOK can bridge concrete cracks up to ¼” wide.

Q: Are expansion joints required?
A: No. ANCHOR-LOK is welded providing a seamless lining. The anchor penetrates into the concrete matrix and allows the lining to absorb all expansion and contraction. Eliminating expansion joints eliminates the weakest point of the lining system.

Q: Does groundwater and hydrostatic pressure effect ANCHOR-LOK?
A: Because ANCHOR-LOK forms an integral part of the concrete structure, it can withstand over 100’ of hydrostatic head pressure.

Q: Can fabrications be tailored to specific dimensions and requirements?
A: ANCHOR-LOK is always custom fabricated. ATLAS provides drawings for customer approval before fabrication commences. If the structure can be poured with concrete, it can be lined with ANCHOR-LOK.

Q: What are the colors of the different ANCHOR-LOK thermoplastics?
A:

Q: Can ANCHOR-LOK tie into adjacent coatings or linings?
A: Fabric-faced material can be provided on the grate seat, perimeter, or flange. The interface joint is reinforced before coatings, linings, and protective systems are tied into the fabric-faced material. Contact ATLAS for additional details and information.
