ENHANCING PLANT INFRASTRUCTURE WITH ATLAS COATING & LINING SYSTEMS

Industrial plants often face wear and tear due to harsh operational environments. Periodic maintenance, such as recoating and installing new components, is essential to ensure efficiency and safety. This recent project was undertaken at a company specializing in innovative specialty products involving wood. The project utilized our flake-filled novolac epoxy coating (Chempruf 121) and our Anchor-Lok Lining System (HDPE), both known for their durability and chemical resistance.

Over time, the existing coatings on the plant’s infrastructure had deteriorated due to a combination of exposure to chemicals and higher temperatures. Also, some areas had never been coated or protected with any type corrosion resistant system. This degradation started compromising the maintenance staff's safety.

A 32” diameter Anchor-Lok HDPE sump was required to manage waste fluids effectively. The new sump needed to be combined seamlessly into the existing area. This was no issue as we were able to retrofit the sump along with a fabric flange to tie it into the Chempruf 121. This was the key factor in helping this project move forward. We were told that, “Being able to integrate a coating with a thermoplastic with no issue separated us from the others.”

The recoating and sump installation project at this particular plant demonstrated the effectiveness of using epoxy and thermoplastic linings in industrial settings. These materials protected against the plant’s harsh operational conditions, enhancing durability, safety, and cost efficiency.  The installation of both the sump and coating took under 7 days from start to completion.

The before and after pictures of this project tell the story of the transformation that took place. These types of projects are satisfying to see come together. It is especially enjoyable to hear from the contractors working with our products how easy they are to install and place in a manner to keep to their tight schedule. It is not only important to the contractor, but just as vital to the end user.
